The IAAS brings the voices of multicultural artists and scholars to light with its program initiatives: 2Leaf Press and phati’tude Literary Magazine. Donate today #ForTheLoveOfLiterature to bring literature to life!
It has been well over three years since the IAAS has held an online fundraiser. Don’t get us wrong, it’s not that we don’t need the money; it’s getting the manpower to make it happen. Enter our intern, Rachel Hobble from University of Maryland.
One of the things we had to do was reassess our website and social media accounts and how to get potential donors their attention. After providing the IAAS board with ideas backed by fully researched reports, Rachel came up with a strategy to help the IAAS improve its online assets and address the need to create an online fundraiser.
When you use a crowdfunding website (we use Fundly), you have to pay for it, in addition to any “gifts” people expect to receive when they donate money. To simplify matters, we created three levels:
- $20: Just to Give: For the Love of Literature: No gift, all funds go to the organization
- $35: 2 Free eBooks: Donors will receive a link to download two ebooks (available in ePub and Kindle formats)
- $50: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE WHITE IN AMERICA: Donors will receive a copy of 2Leaf Press’ long-awaited groundbreaking book, due for release in April 2016
- Or DONATE on the IAAS website using PAYPAL
Moving forward, you’ll be hearing a lot more from us regarding our phati’tude programming and 2Leaf Press’ forthcoming books. In the meantime, we hope that you will donate, spread the word to your friends and colleagues for their support, and of course purchase our books and magazines for either leisurely reads or to use as a teaching tool.
